The Parish Nurse Ministry promotes an environment within the church “where people can turn for health care with a spiritual dimension”. A registered nurse is on staff and focuses on whole-person care – promoting physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health The parish nurse meets with individuals in the parish office, in homes, in the hospital or in facilities identifying and responding to needs through health education, personal health counseling, referrals to resources and services, advocacy and spiritual care. The parish nurse is motivated by the healing ministry of Jesus Christ and collaborates with a variety of parish ministries.
