You may have noticed two beautiful new Season of Creation liturgical banners in our midst!

What is Season of Creation? The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home. Pope Francis made the Roman Catholic Church’s warm welcoming of the season official in 2015.

The diocesan Laudato Si’ committee recently joined Bishop Hicks at Mass to kick off the Season of Creation (9/1–10/4). Their mission is to develop a comprehensive approach to care for creation and the implementation of Laudato Si’ through education, pastoral support, advocacy, care for the poor and vulnerable, environmental justice, and fostering community.
