Unmarried Priesthood is a Gift
Why can’t Catholic priests be married? Technically the pope could change this practice if he wanted to, but he doesn’t… and the pope hasn’t, even in the 21st Century! Rather, celibacy has been not only encouraged, but even mandated for priests for the vast majority of Christian history! Why? Here are a few reasons why rejecting priestly celibacy would be to reject a gift for both priests and for their people.
