Tis the season for fasting, prayer, and almsgiving! Just as Israel’s 40 years of wandering in the desert was their purification before entering the Promised Land, and just as Jesus fasted for 40 days in the desert before beginning His ministry, so too we have our Lenten observances in preparation for Easter!
