Praise God for this most awesome news, Pope Francis today announced that he has named Bishop Ronald A. Hicks, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago, as the sixth Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Joliet, IL!

Let us be in prayer for this most awesome news; Heavenly Father, You have blessed our diocese time and again with good, holy, learned and wise bishops who have led us ever closer to you. Aware of your profound love for us, we give You thanks and praise for sending us Bishop Ronald Hicks.

Inspire us, the clergy, religious and laity of the diocese to work generously with him, proclaiming Jesus to others so that we might grow together in Your love and continue the good work you have begun in us for the sake of all people. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
