On Questions Regarding Palms & About Tonight
We have received inquiries asking if blessed palms will be available for parishioners to come and take on Palm Sunday. There will be no blessing of palms at Mass on Palm Sunday this year for two reasons: The company we order from had so many churches cancel their orders for palms that ours was cancelled without our knowing, therefore, we have no palm branches to bless. You will see decorative palms at Mass, but those palms arrived a couple of weeks prior to when the shipment of palms for distribution would have arrived. We are also following the directives our bishop who wants parishes to do nothing that would encourage people not to observe the “stay at home” order of our governor. If palm branches are available from distributors after the “stay at home” order is lifted, we will purchase them, and bless and distribute them on an appropriate Sunday. Currently the Diocese suggests Pentecost Sunday.
