Perhaps consider going yourself, and to think of it as training in what the Pope calls ‘the art of accompaniment,’ which he says is necessary for everyone; training in the ability to listen to the other with ‘the openness of heart which makes possible that closeness without which genuine spiritual encounter cannot occur.’
