Now. It’s a powerful word—one that calls for action, not delay. You can hear it in the prophet Joel’s call: “Return to me with all your heart,” and in St. Paul’s urgent plea: “Now is a very acceptable time” (2 Corinthians 6:2). God is always ready—always eager to pour out His grace and draw us closer. But while it is always now for Him, we often need the structure of Lent to refocus, repent, and realign our hearts with His. These forty days are an invitation to step away from distractions and open ourselves to His transforming love.
Let this Lent be a retreat for your soul. Start fresh in prayer—maybe by spending ten minutes a day with God or visiting the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel (Monday–Friday after 8 AM Mass until 10 PM). Pray the Stations of the Cross every Friday at 12 PM (Spanish) or 7 PM (English), or come anytime during the day to walk through them on your own in the Narthex or at our outdoor Stations of the Cross. Booklets are available in the Narthex for personal reflection. Join us for The Rescue Project on Thursday evenings, a powerful opportunity to encounter the Lord in a deeper way. However you choose to enter this season, trust that each moment with Him will bring peace, renewal, and a heart more open to His grace.
God is here. His mercy is abundant. Will you receive it? Now is your time. Let’s journey together as a parish. Sign up for The Rescue Project. Below, you’ll find additional resources to help you embrace this holy season more fully.

Daily Mass & Weekend Mass Penitential Rite During Lent
During Lent, we will be using a different form of the Penitential Rite at our Daily and Weekend Masses to help deepen our spirit of repentance and renewal. This adaptation calls us to reflect on our need for God’s mercy and prepare our hearts for the Paschal mystery. Let us enter into this sacred season with openness, seeking God’s grace as we pray together:
- Priest: Have mercy on us oh Lord
- People: For we have sinned against You
- Priest: Show us oh Lord Your mercy
- People: And grant us Your salvation
- Priest: May almighty God have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting.
- People: Amen.

Fasting
Fasting during Lent is a spiritual practice aimed at growth, penance, and preparation for Easter. Catholics are required to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, limiting themselves to one full meal and two smaller meals that do not equal a full meal. All Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence from meat, except on solemnities (such as the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord). The fast is not just physical but also a spiritual act, encouraging repentance, self-discipline, and solidarity with the poor. Certain individuals, such as the elderly, the ill, and children under 14, are exempt. Fasting should be accompanied by prayer and almsgiving for a complete Lenten experience.
This Lent, we invite you to step away and fast from your usual weeknight routine and embrace a different kind of fasting—one that creates space for spiritual renewal. By participating in our Lenten offerings, you have the opportunity to encounter Jesus in a transformative way, opening your heart to His healing and love. These experiences provide a meaningful way to fast from the ordinary and draw closer to God in a profound and lasting way.
