April 24, 2021 | Weekly Update
It’s the weekly update for the 4th Week of Easter and… “I Am the Good Shepherd,” Jesus says
He goes on further to say, “A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11). Check out the video on the Flocknote email that can help us prepare our hearts to go to Mass this weekend where the Deacons will be preaching. Let us hear further what it means to truly love. Yes, to love means to lay your life down for the good of the other person. But this is far easier said than done; it’s difficult to prioritize other people or allow ourselves to be joyfully inconvenienced. But in dying to our own wishes and egos, we start to become self-gifts in imitation of the sacrifice of Jesus. In little and in large ways, we are called to love in imitation of Jesus Christ who reveals this inner dynamic of who God is: “God is love.” (1 John 4:16). Looking forward to seeing you this weekend in-person or online please don’t forget to sign in ahead of time here or at the door.
- This weekend is the last day to sign up for work you would like our Teens to do.
- Teens from our LIGHT youth ministry program are hosting a Day of Service in the community. To help with the cost of the trip they are asking you to put them to work for you!
- How does it work? Do you have an outdoor job you simply don’t have the time or desire to do such as mulching, weeding, fence painting, yard clean-up, etc. Fill out the slip at this link and return it to OLM by April 25th. You will receive a call a few days later to confirm the job and location….and at the designated time (we arrange transportation), “SUPERTEENS” will arrive to do the work on May 1! Our teens and adult leaders will all wear masks and practice social distancing for safety.
You can drop off the form in the dropbox located in the lobby of the PLC. Connect with Ann Marie at (331) 431-3729 or Dave at DaveM@olmercy.comwith any questions.

It is an awesome way to understand the Bible and more importantly our own story—our faith history and how things came to be. Connect with Joe Glasgow at firstname.lastname@example.org details.

There are times when life is overwhelming when all we have is questions. In those moments, hope can feel far away. The great thing about prayer is that it shifts our perspective toward the One who stands ready to listen. No matter what you’re facing, we’d love to pray with you. As we continue to celebrate this Easter season, and to ponder at length the practical difference the resurrection of Jesus makes in our lives, let us pray for opportunities to let others know there is a merciful and gracious Savior who desires to wash away their sins by His own Blood, inviting them to Mass and even invite them to the upcoming CRHP Christ Renews His Parish Renewal Weekends.
Last week we heard from Erica, this week we hear from Wendy Jo who initially was talking herself out of attending.
Talking Myself Out of Attending the Retreat
Listen to how Wendy Jo made a movement from talking herself out to attending the retreat to actually attending and how that restless decision bore an extraordinary outcome for her, where she was re-energized, inspired, and transformed as a result of attending the CRHP Christ Renews His Parish Renewal Weekend.
