Trunk-or-Treat with the Saints 10/26

As we near the feast of all All Saints (November 1), we wanted to offer a fun way to learn about the Saints, the special friends of God, who take action on our behalf from heaven! There is a thin veil between heaven and earth. The Communion of Saints not only inspire us to build God’s kingdom on earth “as it already is in heaven,” they also remind us that each one of us is called to a life of holiness and are created to become God’s Saints! With Sainthood being our ultimate destination, let’s spend an afternoon with them, remembering their stories and celebrating their legacies with decorations, costumes (encouraged, not required), and treats.

As a family, a group of teens, or small parish community like Fit Shepherds or Mama’s Grace, sign-up for a Saint below and decorate a trunk with signs, illustrations, and/ or objects that help retell a special part of your Saint’s story. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT Mary Jo (maryjot@olmercy.com) FOR IDEAS OR HELPS WITH DECORATING YOUR TRUNK. Please plan on enough candy or Saintly treats for 55-75 visitors. Family Faith Formation will have extra treats on hand!
