Posadas & Pastorela – 12/16 through 12/19

Las Posadas is typically a nine day novena of prayer that involves the recitation of the rosary and traditional songs. It concludes with a Mexican folk play, potluck celebration and a piñata filled with treats.
Las Posadas celebrations commemorate Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, where they sought shelter for the birth of Jesus. The Spanish word “posada” means “inn.”
December 16–18 at 7:00pm — Posadas (in the Church)
Experience Las Posadas, a treasured Advent tradition that retraces the Holy Family’s search for shelter.
Each evening includes the Rosary, seasonal songs, and simple moments of prayer, inviting us to welcome Christ with open doors and open hearts.
December 19 at 7:00pm — Pastorela (in the PLC)
We conclude with a festive Pastorela, a Christmas play presented by our parish community.
After the performance, stay for a Potluck Dinner — a shared table of joy, hospitality, and delicious dishes as we draw near to the Nativity.
Come for one evening or all four.
These gatherings, held in Spanish, are small lanterns in the Advent night, guiding us toward the manger with hope and warmth.
